Albert Road, vacant site

Albert Road, vacant site
4th December 1981. View of Albert Road showing a vacant site strewn with builders' rubble, adjacent to no. 84a, seen to the left of the photo. Houses in the background face on to Ackroyd Street, which branches off from Albert Road just off the picture on the left.

User Comments:

Those really were the Days.

Site of the locally revered and very much missed 'Miners' Fish & Chip Shop. Fabulous fish, fishcakes and parsley cakes during the seventies. Lovely memories of nights in the Rock, Brunswick and Miners Arms with a fish to eat on the short walk home to Troy Road.
