Elm Street, steps

Elm Street, steps
1970. View of Elm Street showing a flight of steps which leads up from Ganton View towards Ganton Miount, with Ganton Place beyond. The corner shop on the right is Milly's at no.1 Ganton Mount. The stairway features a traditonal wrought iron balustrade.

User Comments:

I lived in the house shown in 1978-79 with 4 others, whilst a student in Leeds. Amazingly happy times! The shop area stored assorted second-hand furniture, but wasn't really used to trade from. Sad to relate that the houses that were built to replace these streets are already looking tired and unkempt.
