Description: 1988.
Image shows the Great Hall of the University of Leeds which stands on the former Beech Grove Hall Estate. Architect Alfred Waterhouse designed the building in the Gothic Collegiate style. The Duke and Duchess of York came to Leeds in the October of 1894 to open the Great Hall, then part of the Yorkshire College. It is often used for ceremonious occasions and examinations but housed the library prior to 1936 when it was moved to the new Brotherton Library.
