Description:
c1980s. View shows the Melbourne Hotel public house in the process of demolition. This site at the junction of York Road to the left and Foundry Lane (to the right) has since become occupied by a Burger King fast food restaurant. Image courtesy of Paul Farnill.

Used to get the tram or bus from here to town to see my grandparents when I was a kid,( good fish and chips just a few doors up from here). we lived in Alston lane just over the field, it was great back then.
