Lion and Lamb, York Road, demolition
2006. View shows the Lion and Lamb public house on York Road about to be demolished. This pub, situated by the junction with Barwick Road, was built c1959 as the Seacroft Hotel. It later took the name of the former public house next door, which still stands and was until recent times a guest house. The pub was closed in 2006 despite its transformation from a trouble spot to a friendly local under landlady Barbara Forrest, with the site bought by Aldi for a new supermarket.
