Saxton Gardens, redevelopment
2007. View shows work in progress on the redevelopment of Saxton Gardens. These former council flats, dating from 1957, are undergoing a complete overhaul in a development by Urban Splash, designed by architects Union North, which will include allotment plots, wildflower meadows and an orchard as well as 410 new apartments. The development opened to its first residents in 2009 and is now just named 'Saxton'. Image courtesy of Leslie Cole.
