Description: 2001.
This view looking down Sherburn Road towards Stanks Drive show how the landscape of the Swarcliffe housing estate was previously dominated by a number of blocks of high-rise flats. Six are in view here, namely (from left), Langbar Grange, Ash Tree Grange, Penniwell Croft, Ash Tree Court, Brayton Grange and Farndale Court. All these were to be demolished over the next few years as part of a major regeneration of the area. Houses in the foreground remain, where the junction with Sledmere Croft is on the left.
