Swarcliffe Avenue, demolition of Langbar Towers
Description:
2003. View looking north-east along Swarcliffe Avenue towards the high-rise flats of Langbar Towers in the process of demolition. A huge crane is seen which can reach to the top of the 15-storey tower block. This was one of 10 out of 11 blocks of flats on the Swarcliffe Estate that were demolished in the 2000s as part of a major redevelopment scheme for the area. Image courtesy of Leslie Cole.
