Description: October 2003.
This view from Swarcliffe Avenue shows three blocks of flats on the Swarcliffe estate, including Ash Tree Grange, left, which is about to be demolished; a crane is ready to begin the initial process of removing the top floors. Ash Tree Court (right) and Pennwell Croft (background) would survive until 2006 before suffering the same fate. In total, 11 tower blocks were built on the estate in the mid 1960s, of which only Sherburn Court still remains.
