Frankland Place, rear of nos. 18-24 Spencer Place
Description:
1971. View of Frankland Place showing the back yards and outbuildings of houses facing onto Spencer Place, numbered (from right) 18 to 24. These houses have since been demolished, but the building in the background, left, by the junction with Leopold Street, is still in existence (2017).

Looks very much like Brookfield Avenue, off Harehills Lane lower down than Fforde Green junction. Compare to houses on streetview.

I thought at first also of Brookfield Avenue, as I often used to visit someone there in the 1970s. But, looking at google earth view now, i think i was mistaken, as, even allowing for restoration, i don't think it fits what is there now

The view is of Frankland Place (old houses now demolished) looking towards the gable end of a house that still stands on Leopold Street. And to Mike nee who did you visit on Brookfield Ave? I lived there 30 years and my father 80 years!

Thanks for all the suggestions, I think Eno is right about this one, it does look like it could be Frankland Place. They are the backs of houses which face on to Spencer Place so I think Rod is right too in saying that it is a back street of Spencer Place. Many thanks to both of you!

I remember when this picture was in the "can you help" section on this site and I have no idea who identified it but they must have a keen eye because they're absolutely spot on, we're looking from Frankland place directly behind the health centre
