Description:
1971. View shows terrace housing on Back Sidlaw Terrace, looking east from Markham Avenue. The houses on the left are back-to-backs with Shepherd's Lane, while those on the right, since demolished, formed back-to-backs with Sidlaw Terrace. In the background are houses on Back Vicars Terrace; beyond these, the building with the tower is Harehills County Primary School on Roundhay Road, which closed in 1986.

Hi everyone - I am not certain but this looks like one of the streets off Gathorne Terrace in Chapeltown, possibly the Giptons, looking towards Bankside Street. - Ian

This is taken in Back Sidlaw Terrace, (Still standing 2012). The ventilation towers (I think thats what they are) of Harehills County Primary School can be seen on the Horizon.

This I think is Back Sidlaw Terrace, houses straight ahead are the fronts to Vicars Road, and large building behind is the Victorian school (now demolished) that stood on Roundhay Road. Houses to right have also been demolished. Google-Earth (Streetview)

at the bottom of this street there was a beck and the houses on the right were not back to back to the were through terraced i know because i used to live in one many moons ago
