Lyttelton was one of the many famous names in jazz who played at the club during the 1950s and 1960s. In addition to his musical career, he later became a successful broadcaster, presenting the Radio 4 show 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue' for 36 years until his death in 2008.
