Description:
1962. Interior view of Moortown Motors Ltd. on Regent Street, showing a car receiving a repaint in the spray booth. The car wheels are on dollies so they can be moved on lines into the drier. Photograph courtesy of Don Smith, who was manager of the paint shop at the time.

Comment:
This car is a full re-spray, the front and rear hoods were removed along with all four fenders, chrome trim and bumpers also rubber on the inside of the doors and hoods were removed. The time taken to remove these parts was replaced by not having to wet sand and polish the car as it was a gun finish. Under the car a grill can be seen this is where the overspray is extracted through a water wash and out into the atmosphere, The painter in this image is covering overspray in the wheel arches with flat black so it not seen when the car is returned to the owner.
