July 2012. View of Silver Street off Water Lane where old factory premises are visible with a wide archway. The junction with Silver Street is situated at number 149 Water Lane. The view is looking towards Water Lane.

The premises in this photo will probably known to every kid in the Holbeck/New Wortley area. This is where you converted your waste paper, rags and empty jam jars into cash. I never knew the name of the company or the lady who weighed out what you had brought and paid you, but the man who worked with her was always referred to by his full name John Willy. can anyone add to this?

I'm not sure if that isn't the old yard where William Bywater's were. I had my first job working as a junior tracer for that company. I loved working there
