Early 1950s. Image shows Fred Aspinal leaning against his wagon in Tonbridge Street. He was a driver for the firm of Gale Lister & Co. Ltd, wine and spirit merchants of number 2 The Calls. The shop/garage belonging to the firm was situated at number 105 Tonbridge Street at the junction with Beech Grove Terrace.

As of other pictures of Gale Lister employees photos and other comments, I also worked with Fred he was great to work with... I remember we went to London on a number occations with a load wine and maldono cocktail (London Wine Agency)and we had great times, we stayed in Barnet. we use to meet a man call Ginger who worked as driver Dunlop and Rankins ... we had some good evening
