Early 1950s. Image shows the driver, Ernest Young, in front of his delivery wagon. He was an employee of the wine and spirit merchant firm of Gale Lister & Co. Ltd. based at number 2 The Calls, with a shop/garage at number 105 Tonbridge Street. Street.

I was drivers mate to Ernest for a number of years, Just looking this picture brings great memories .... the good times we had, and fellow workers both in Tonbridge Street and the Calls I even remember the transport Manager name, was Joe Hall (a great person and fair man, a joy to work for)

I worked at Gale Lister, and used to deliver round town on a 'Butchers Bike' delivering wine, and then in the celler bottling plant we used to go down to Kildare St, where the Bonded Warehouse was, and more bottling ,,,, haaa memorys
