Woodhouse Moor, Two Friends
1969. Image shows two friends photographed on Woodhouse Moor, an area that has remained popular for recreational activities since it was first purchased for public use in Victorian times. These fashion conscious girls, however, are very much of the 1960s. Hairstyles like these would have been the height of fashion in 1969. One wears her hair long, back combed for height at the crown in a style reminscent of the French actress, Brigitte Bardot. In contrast the other girl has her hair styled in a sleek 'page boy'. Behind them people are enjoying the open space of the moor.
