Image shows young local residents taking part in a street party in Sissons Crescent to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It is believed that the photograph was taken in the garden of Mrs. Cairns of number 46 Sissons Crescent. Some of the children on the back row include (from left to right) June Anderson, Myra Clutterbuck, B(?) Fenton, Raymond Tyson, Jean Anderson and John Ellener. On the front row, 6th from left, is Gilbert Stone (who later emigrated to New Zealand), 4th from right is Peter Stone. Peter's grandparents lived at number 42 Sissons Crescent, and were John and Annie Ellener. Their immediate neighbours were the Madeley's and the Benn's.
