Kirkstall Power Station, cooling towers
1979. View of Kirkstall Power Station showing two cooling towers, taken shortly before they were demolished. The power station opened in 1930 and was extended in the mid 1940s when these two cooling towers were built. The towers were demolished on 13th April 1979 but the site was not completely cleared until after the demolition of the two chimneys in 1986.
