29th May 2000. View shows the premises of the Britannia Building Society at no. 48 Albion Street, a Grade II listed building known as Moorlands House. Dating back to 1852-55 it was originally occupied by the Leeds and West Yorkshire Assurance Company. It was designed in a Venetian palazzo style by architect W. B. Gingell and features the sculpture of Robert Mawer.
