Wagonette, York Road
c1911.Image shows a wagonette outside the Lion and Lamb public house at 997 York Road, near to Seacroft Hall. The licensee at the time was George Dennell, who is listed there in the 1911 census along with his wife Mary and family. The wagonette provided transport between Whinmoor and Leeds City Centre, picking up passengers along the route.

George’s Wife Mary Dennell (nee Payne) is my 3x great aunt and was and raised in Wortley, Leeds. Many of her siblings also went into the pub trade.
