View shows Robert Barber Schofield sitting in the grounds of the family home, Osmondthorpe House, which was built by his father, William Schofield. The house was located on the site of the former stables to Osmondthorpe New Hall, an early 18th century mansion on the west side of Osmondthorpe Lane. The Schofield family were known to be in residence there between 1901 and 1927; the image is believed to date from the early 1920s.
