Image shows Canal Gardens in Roundhay Park. An elderly couple are seated on a bench with a mobility aid beside tham, while in the background a couple are walking with a pushchair and a member of park staff is watering the flowers. The Gardens were laid out in the 1830s, reflecting the fashion at that time to separate formal gardens from the other grounds and parklands on landed estates. The basic layout of the Gardens has since been preserved.
