Cockersdale Arms, Whitehall Road
Description:
August 1969. View shows the Cockersdale Arms, a Webster's public house on Whitehall Road. The pub was formerly known as the Gashouse Tavern and it reverted back to this name in 2005. Originally there were three houses on the right hand side of the pub which were occupied until the 1950s before being demolished. The building has more recently been extended and converted into flats which have retained the name Gashouse Tavern. Photograph from the David Atkinson Archive.
