Gospel Hall, Sharp Lane
1950s. View shows the Gospel Hall on the north side of Sharp Lane, near the junction with the A61 Leeds-Wakefield Road, and still in use as a church at that time. Behind it is the GPO Repeater Station, used to boost telephone signals. It was built in the early 1950s, at the start of the Cold War period, and demolished around 2007. The Gospel Hall was converted to use as a library, again around the early 1950s, and was demolished around 2004. There are now residential properties on the site.
