Stainbeck Lane, looking towards Harrogate Road
March 1980. View of Stainbeck Lane looking towards the junction with Harrogate Road at Stainbeck Corner. On the left is Chapel Allerton Methodist Church, at the time derelict. Next is the church hall then a row of empty shops, ending with the Midland Bank by the junction with Town Street. The church, hall and row of shops would all soon be demolished and replaced with a more modern row, except for the Midland Bank which survives to this day (2018), though now named HSBC.
