Woodhouse, view from the Bricklayers Arms
April 1971. View looking across Woodhouse from the Bricklayers Arms on St. Mark's Road. In the foreground is a cleared area where Institution Street, Holborn Street and terraces in between have been demolished. A few houses on Churchfield Street are still standing but these would also soon be demolished. This area would be replaced by the Holborns. Further back, Woodhouse Street runs across from left to right, with streets leading up on the left being Quarry Street and Christopher Road. The Chemic Tavern is in the centre with Beulah Street to its right. The view looks towards Scott Hall Road in the background, right, with the tower block in the distance likely to be Potternewton Heights.
