Description:
6th June 1956. Image shows the dredging of Gledhow Valley Lake at a time when the new weir was under construction. To the right of centre a workman can be seen with the sled used for dredging, which was hauled by two traction engines. The lake runs alongside Gledhow Valley Road.

This shows the a workman sitting on the sled which was dragged between two traction engines, as described in my comment on image no.30. Interestingly, in image 30 the sled has moved closer to the camera.
