Sheepscar Beck, bus crash
21st January 1956. Photograph of a double decker bus which has crashed 20 feet into Sheepscar beck from Sheepscar Street, near Rosenbloom And Son cabinet makers. The back of the West Yorkshire Road Car bus to Harrogate, and emergency exits can be seen. There are advertising hoardings for the Daily Sketch, electrically supplied hot water and Stork margarine.

I was 12 years old at the time this accident happened and living in Everlyn Street just off sheepscare. I went down with my brother to watch the workmen lift the bus out of the beck. I often walked down along the side of the beck seeing how far we dared to walk through the tunnels.
