9th November 1950. View of Holbeck Lodge built in 1804 for engineer Matthew Murray. His contribution to the engineering developments of the Industrial Revolution were tremendous. He was responsible for the world's first practical steam locomotive engines, machine tools and spinning machinery. This house was nicknamed 'Steam Hall' as Murray had installed steam central heating. This is now demolished.
