Description:
30th March 1920. Construction of terraced houses, shown almost complete with scaffolding and a ladder, also four workmen. There is a trench for pipes in the foreground with various tools. This is on Vesper Road.

the houses in the picture which are under construction appear to be the houses on the westerly side of vesper road opposite where there now stands a nursing home adjacent to derelict land where once stood the woodway public house. to the best of my knowledge the house 1st on the block was occupied by the roberts family fromat least the early 1970's.

This photo shows no. 132 to 140 Vesper Road under construction. Must have been some of the first houses built on the estate. Very interesting to see the old scaffolding techniques and bricks just dumped in a huge pile!
