the beck coming from the right is coming thru a tunnel known as the CANNONBALL and joined sheepscar beck to gipton/ladybeck within the TUSHKY tunnel.

Comment:
Allan's right about the cannonball tunnel, it was about 30ft long and had great acoustics for singing. The tunnel to the left is called the slants, very tricky to get through when wet, you could slide into the rat filled water. I used to play true dare kiss or promise on the grassy bank with Rita and Susan Hudson, Anne Catlow and Brian Turner in the early 60s. The wall had been repaired by then.
