c1910. Residence of Captain Adam Baynes (1620-1670) MP for Leeds in the Commmonwealth. Residence of the artist Atkinson Grimshaw in the 1870s. Demolished in 1960. A Pleasaunce or Pleasance was an area attached to a house or estate used for pleasure or recreation. Photo by Alf Mattison
