Birch Avenue
18th October 1951. Looking north up Birch Avenue from Cross Green Lane. On the left, a row of brick terrace houses with bay windows and dormers. A small sign on the end house says Stanley Terrace. The houses have small front gardens surrounded by low brick walls with hedges and trees. On the other side of the road on the right, a long wall with rendered and brick houses behind the trees and shrubs. The cobbled avenue has grass verges and flagged stone pavements, with a car parked half way down, and a gas lamp at the near end.
