Pickfords low loader on York Road
Description:
17th February 1938. Just past the Red Lion Inn a Pickfords low loader is carrying an 81 tonne stern frame. There is a car parked at its rear and several people are watching. Note the solid tyres on the low loader.

My father and cousin both worked in the Red Lion for many years. It brings back meemories to see it again.

This looks serious. Am i correct in thinking that the load has slipped. Those two arms seem to be touching the road.
