Description: c1954.
Watercolour painting by Pete Lapish depicting the Majestic in City Square. This was a well-known and popular cinema and dance hall. Many people can be seen queueing in the open for east/west bound trams and in rudimentary shelters for north bound and other trams. Just to the right, one of the statues in City Square is visible. There are four pairs of these nymphs around the square, bearing lamps representing Morn and Even.
