Monday, 9th July, 1860. This 'extraordinary attraction' taking place in the Cattle Market, introduces, Manders' Royal Menagerie and Foreign Legion of Birds and Beasts'. During this event, there will be '...monsters of the deep, reptiles of the land, elephants of the East, Maccomo the African Lion hunter and a Tiger Taner and Serpent Charmer, who will illustarte the startling and varied transitions of a fearful and exciting Lion fight, attack, defence, capture and reconciliation of 20 Lions!'. Other animals featured during this show include 'four Royal Monster Bengal Tigers' and 'huge performing elephants!'. The show will commence at 4.00pm on Monday and at 12.00pm thereafter. '...Feeding time for the animals will be at 9.30pm and will cost audiences 6d extra'.
