24th December, 1878. For this Christmas Eve performance at the Grand Theatre, there will be a grand pantomime,'...written especially for this theatre by John F. McArdle Esq.' entitled, 'Blue Beard' (or, 'Harlequin the Amorous Ameer of Afghanistan'). The performances will usually commence at 7.30pm. There will also be some day performances , '...to which children under 12 will be admitted at half price to all parts except the Gallery'. These will be given on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during Christmas week and on Wednesday, 1st January, 1879.
