Monday, 18th August, 1913. For the duration of the next week at the Hippodrome, W.C. Fields, '...the silent humorist and originator of everything he does' will be engaged. Of equal importance this week, is the engagement of, Albert Whelan, '...the entertainer with an elegance and style of his own, whose performance is a delightful blend of Artistry and Humour'. Other Acts/Artistes that are featured on the Playbill include: Bert Eden, 'unusual comedian'; Du Cros Trio, '...the novel and entertaining comedy gymnasts'; Fred Sinclair & Grace Whiteford, '...the premier comedy dualogue Artistes'; Ethel Newman, in a novel monologue called, 'The Widow'; Belle Mora, 'comedienne' and finally, Arthur Deagan, '...in comedy novelty songs and dances'. Also, 'Mabel's Lovers' will be shown on the Bioscope. There will be two performances every night commencing at 6.50pm and at 9.00pm, although on Mondays, Saturdays and during the Holidays, the early performance begins at 6.40pm. There will also be a matinee performance on Wednesday at 2.30pm.
