Aerial view over Harehills from Sheepscar showing E.B. Balmforth Ltd. Leather Manufacturers at number 4 Meanwood Road, the white building in the foreground. On the right, in the foreground, is the former Leeds, Skyrac and Morley Savings Bank at number 183 North Street, at the junction with Meanwood Road. At the top right is the former Kepler Council school which later became known as Roseville County Secondary School and fronts Gledhow Road. The low wide building near the top left edge is UBM Rycroft, Plumbers's and Builder's Merchant in Roseville Avenue. Properties in Roseville Road can be seen a quarter of the way down from the top edge.

On the left of the image is Meanwood Road with Buslingthorpe Lane on the right in the foreground. In the centre of the image are Carr Mills who specialised in the finishing and dyeing of cloth utilising water from the nearby Meanwood/Sheepscar Beck, which formed the northern boundary visible here in the top right corner. No longer a mill, some of these buildings are still in use.

In the centre of this view is a large area where houses have been demolished in line with slum clearance plans. Meanwood Road runs from the left to right edge in the lower half of the view. Gasometers at a Gasholder Station on Sheepscar Street North can be seen in the bottom left with Sheepscar Council School bottom right. Camp Road (now Oatland Lane) can be seen along the top of the cleared area where St Matthews Church stands alone. Above Camp Road, several new housing developments are visible. Carlton Towers to the left with Carlton Croft and Close to the right. At the time of this view, Carlton Garth had yet to be built. The back-to-back houses in the top right await demolition.

Aerial view showing three stages in the redevelopment of housing in Little London. In the bottom left corner, the walled banks of Sheepscar Beck are visible. Above this, Meanwood Road runs from the centre of the left edge towards the bottom right corner. On the right are rows of back-to-back houses, many deemed unfit for human habitation, which await demolition. Towards the left, St Matthews Church stands in a cleared area, former streets are clearly visible. Moving across Camp Road (now Oatland Lane) is an area of newly erected flats and maisonettes, the Carltons.

View looks across housing in Little London in the direction of Mabgate. Meanwood Road is on the left running almost parallel to the edge of the view. Meanwood Street runs across the area of cleared land where rows of back-to-back houses had stood. St Matthews Church stands amongst empty plots of land separated by the former streets. Further blocks of back-to-back seen in the bottom right await demolition and redevelopment. Camp Road (now Oatland Lane) runs through the centre of the view. Newly built blocks of flats are visible. The two T shaped buildings are both Carlton Towers with Carlton Close and Croft below.
