Calverley Street, looking north towards Great George Street from Park Lane. Leeds Town Hall is on the left (Architect was Cuthbert Brodrick). Opened by Queen Victoria in 1858. One of four Lions by William Day Keyworth Jnr. can be seen, with policeman to the side. On the right can be seen the corner of the Municipal Buildings (second block from front), With street sign 'Centenary Street'. Opened in 1884 designed by George Corson they housed Civic offices and Library, Art Gallery. A hanging sign points the way in. Behind frontage on Great George Street are School and Education offices. Electric lights can be seen, (installed in 1884/85). Traffic consists of horse and carts and cars. |

View of Chapeltown Cavalry Baracks showing what appears to be the parade ground. Steps leading to the second floor can be seen right of centre. Leeds Rifles used the old riding school and parade ground for eighty years until they transferred to Harewood Barracks in 1967. These barracks were demolished in 1988. |

View from Woodhouse Street, which is cobbled and has tram lines, looking towards Cliff Road on the left, Woodhouse Cliff and an unnamed road forming a triangle. The centre of the triangle is grassed and has newly planted trees. From the left on Cliff Road can be seen A. Agar, joiner and undertaker. Outside the next house is a horse with a loaded cart. A house in the terrace has steps with railings leading to the front door. Along Cliff Road can be seen St. Augustines National School. |

Farfield House was situated off Theaker Lane and Hollywell Lane. It has undergone alterations over the years and is now used as Armley Conservative Club. This view shows a group of young girls in pinafores with a few adult women. At this time it was Farfield Girls' Training School run by Leeds City Council |

Houses in Francis Court, set around cobbled yard. Access was from Neville Street, entrance between number 13 and 14. A measuring rod and ladders are near the entrance, a workman looking on, dressed in the fashion of the period. Through the entrance a portion of School Close Mills can be seen, which was at number 26 Neville Street, on the opposite side. |
