Black & White imageUndated, (c.1969-1977) This view is taken from Crown Point Bridge and looks along the Aire and Calder Navigation. To the left is a small island where the Sea Cadets headquarters was based. The white footbridge in the foreground has the words 'Sea Cadets' across the top. The River Aire can just be seen on the right edge and meets the canal in the centre of the view. Industrial premises are visible in the background including Trinity Brush Works and Fearns Island Mills. The spire of St Saviours Church can be seen on the left edge. Black & White imageApril 1904. Row of terraced houses in Ark Street, part of the East Street improvement area, with woman and baby in doorway of one of the houses. The windows have wooden shutters. Iron covering of coal cellar is clearly visible to left of picture. These two houses were demolished for road improvements.

Black & White image16th May 1908 Included in the Cross Green Lane improvement scheme. Street of brick terrace dwellings, wooden shuters on lower windows. Gap in the houses provides a yard with outside toilets. A hand cart stands on cobbled street, containing sections of wood.

Atlas Street, Methodist Free Church School (Cross Green)
Black & White image25th January 1907. Fronting onto Timber Place, this view of the Methodist Church is from Atlas Street. The Building is being prepared for demolition. It had incorporated a free school.
