Main Street, shop property (Shadwell)
Black & White image1975. View of an old stone built property in Main Street, opposite the junction with Hobberley Lane. It was originally two retail shops, the left-hand property being a general grocery store and the right-hand one, a bakery. Eventually, the bakery closed and it was converted to living accommodation for the adjacant shop owners. The whole property was sold by the Thompson family around 1980. Nowadays, it is all one residential property and is addressed as number 209 Main Street. Courtesy of Shadwell Local History Society.
