Black & White image1964. View of the Black Horse public house on Mabgate. This site was originally Mabgate Hall. Built in 1673, this later became the Black Bull Inn. This was rebuilt in 1868 and became the Black Horse.

Colour image29th October 1999. The City of Mabgate Inn on Mabgate, a unique front of brickwork and green tiles. Cars parked down both sides of Mabgate. Later closed and premises converted into flats in 2006.

Colour image1999. City of Mabgate Pub, from Mabgate. A fine example of Burmantofts faience, in the green glaze tiling round the exterior, produced by Burmantofts Pottery which was closed in 1957, having at one time exported them around the world.
