The view is looking south with the A1 (Great North Road) running from top to bottom and the A659 from left to right. To the left the A659 is known as Moor End as it leads into Boston Spa centre.

Bradford Road Bridge Construction of the M62. (West Ardsley)
Colour imageJuly 1969. This is the construction of the M62, the Lancashire - Yorkshire Motorway in July 1969. The first part to be built was the Bradford Road Bridge carrying the A650 across the motorway, seen in the background. a West Riding Bus is visible crossing the bridge. The photograph was taken from a footbridge crossing the Motorway at the position of Rien Road. The road link wasn't maintained on Rein Road while the Motorway was being constructed across it. Bruntcliffe Terminus 1911, laying of new tram track. (Morley) (5 comments)
Black & White image1911. Image shows workmen engaged in the laying of new tram track at Bruntcliffe Terminus in 1911. Several young boys are watching from the side of the track. Just beyond the workmen is Bruntcliffe cross-roads, where Howden Clough Road (A643) and Bruntcliffe Lane (A643) meet the Wakefield to Bradford Road (A650) and Bruntcliffe Road (A650). Bruntcliffe Post Office, (still in business as such until very recently) can be seen on the left. The landmark for the terminus, the Old Angel Inn, is visible on the right. Kirkstall Abbey, aerial view (Kirkstall)
Black & White imageUndated. Aerial view of Kirkstall Abbey looking in the direction of Kirkstall Forge and Horsforth. The abbey is situated on a site between the River Aire, left and the main A65 Leeds Road, right. This stretch is known as Abbey Road. To the left of the River Aire is the railway line and beyond the railway is the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. At the bend in the river the densely packed buildings of Kirkstall Forge are visible.

Black & White imageUndated. Aerial view of Kirkstall Forge, seen in the centre of the image. At the left edge Vesper Road snakes in to join Abbey Road, the main A65 Leeds Road. At the other side of the main forge buildings the River Aire can be seen. It flows under the railway lines at this point and runs close to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal for a while, top. Between Vesper Road and Abbey Road Hawksworth Wood and White Hall Quarries are visible. This is looking in the direction of Leeds.
