Famous brands advertised include Walls, Golden Virginia, and Birds Eye. Advertisements on the Abbott Street side of the building include extra cephos for a 'headache and a half' and cadets. In front of the shop a van is parked with a man walking past in overalls. The van REG is RGC 9G3.

The shed on the far right of the gable end is the Castleton Post office and chemist, advertising national health service prescriptions dispensed here. The shop on the the right is the D & M Darbishire Newsagents outside are advertised the Sunday people and the People Newspaper. Advertised above the shop is Dettol antiseptic and Cardinal Liquid polish.

Abercorn Terrace is on the left at the corner with Armley Road is a licensed betting office, one of many in Leeds which belonged to Jim Windsor. This was number 122 Armley Road. A poster advertises eggs 'Fresh From the Farm'.
