11th June 1947. Showing houses on Alcester Road recently affected by the flooding of Gipton Beck. In the foreground is a walled yard. Behind are brick built terraced houses. To the right is a telephone pole painted with blackout markings. A garden shed is also prominent.

13th January 1943. View of the premises of John Nicholson & Sons Ltd., (acid manufacturers), on Church Street, near the junction with Balm Road (on the left). The building, which was previously a school, has black and white checks and stripes for visibility during air-raid blackouts.
