 | 3rd January 1934. At the junction with Neville Street there are two shops, one a grocers and the other a newsagent & tobacconists. Advertising hoardings abound. There are posters for Oxo, Bovril, Ovaltine, Betta biscuits, Bass No 1 and Nestles milk. We also see newspaper and cigarette signs, including the News of the World, the Daily Mail and Craven "A". Two boys with a hand barrow are in front of the newsagents. At the right is the Hurst & Woodhead timber merchants yard. [internal reference; 9017:CLIB Wilson 22] |

 | 3rd January 1934. This is at the junction with Neville Street. On the corner there is a shop with three large adverts above the window. They are for Nestles milk, Camp coffee and Bovril. At the side a billboard advertises plays at the Queens theatre. Tram lines run along both streets, as do their cables. A man is waiting at the tram stop. On the right can be seen Hurst & Woodhead, timber merchants yard. [internal reference; 9018:CLIB Wilson 24] |
