Bramham Road, Baptismal Well (Clifford) (1 comment)
Black & White image1903. Image of the baptismal well which still stands on the Bramham Road and is now part of the private estate of Frontwell House. It was one of many local wells which supplied Springfield House on Old Mill Lane, and therefore it is sometimes known locally as Springfield Well. Springfield House was the home of the Grimston family, flax spinners and farmers who owned Clifford Mills. Behind the lamp, there is a plaque with an inscription.
