| Chapeltown, looking East (Pudsey) |
 | 3rd August 1982.
View of Chapeltown looking East. Just right of centre Pudsey Cenotaph is visible which was dedicated by the Bishop of Bradford in 1922. It was built on the site of the east end of All Saints Chapel of ease, demolished in 1879. Chapeltown gets it's name from this. The house facing in the background was originally addressed as 1 Parsonage Fold and at one time adjoined the old Parsonage. It was occupied by a man who made 'Havercakes' or Oatcakes known locally as 'Havercake Wilson'. He sold them on the streets and in the public houses. Pudsey Cenotaph stands at the junction with Carlisle Road. [internal reference; 2007817_164508:SLIC Chapeltown 1241] |
